Service area, scheduling, installation logistics, commercial services, and product decisions all covered below.
Fifteen questions. Direct answers. No contact gate between you and the information you need. If something here points you toward a dedicated page, it’s because that topic deserves more than a paragraph — not because we’re holding back.
Service Area and Scheduling
Lion’s Windows & Doors serves all of greater Las Vegas — not just the city limits.
Here’s what that means in practice. If your project is in Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Paradise, Spring Valley, or anywhere across Clark County, you’re in our service area. Our dispatch is based at 1600 E Desert Inn Road in Las Vegas, and our 6-person crew covers the full valley.
Does Lion's Windows & Doors serve Henderson and North Las Vegas, or only the city of Las Vegas?
We serve both — and every community in between. Henderson and North Las Vegas are active parts of our service area, including the industrial corridors along Gibson, Stephanie, and the St. Rose Parkway in Henderson. If you’re in Clark County, we cover it. If your community has specific appearance requirements, see our guide to HOA rules for windows and doors in Summerlin and Henderson before you order.
How far in advance do I need to schedule a window or door installation?
It depends on the scope and whether custom-ordered products are involved. Standard residential installs typically schedule within a few weeks. Larger commercial jobs or custom-specified doors and windows require lead time for product fabrication — we confirm the realistic timeline during your initial consultation before anything is booked.
Can I schedule a measurement visit separately from the installation, or do they happen together?
They happen separately for most jobs. We measure first, confirm the product order, then schedule the installation once the unit has arrived and been verified. This approach prevents the most common installation problem in Las Vegas: a door or window ordered without field-confirmed measurements.
The Installation Process
Knowing what to expect before the crew arrives makes the job go smoother for everyone.
Las Vegas homes have a few characteristics that come up regularly on installation days — stucco exteriors, slab foundations, and desert-grade weatherstripping that dries out faster than in humid climates. These aren’t surprises to us. Here’s what the process looks like from your side.
What should I do to prepare my home before a window or door installation crew arrives?
Clear the area around the window or door by at least three feet on both sides. Move furniture, art, and anything fragile away from the work zone. If it’s a window, take down any blinds or curtains before we arrive — it saves time and protects them from dust. We handle the rest.
Will the installation crew patch the wall or stucco around a window after it's removed?
We address the immediate perimeter during installation — flashing, caulking, and sealing the new unit to the existing opening. Full stucco patch and finish work, if a larger area was disturbed, is typically a separate scope. We tell you upfront what will and won’t be included before work begins, so there are no surprises at the end of the day.
How long does it typically take to install a single window versus a full-room window replacement?
A single window replacement in an existing opening generally takes two to four hours, depending on frame condition and accessibility. A full-room replacement — six to eight windows — typically runs a full day with a properly staffed crew. West-facing windows in Las Vegas often require more prep time because the stucco and frame perimeter have taken more UV and thermal stress than north-facing units in the same house.
What happens if the window or door unit that was ordered doesn't fit the rough opening on installation day?
This is exactly why we measure before ordering — not after. If a discrepancy is found on installation day, we do not force the unit into an opening it doesn’t fit. We assess whether the rough opening can be adjusted on-site or whether the unit needs to be reordered. Either way, we communicate that immediately and do not leave your opening exposed — temporary protection goes in until the correct unit is ready.
What to Know Before Calling Us
A little preparation before your first call gets you to an accurate answer faster.
Some of the most useful information we can give you happens in the first five minutes of a conversation — but only if we know what we’re dealing with. These questions cover what helps us help you quickly, whether you’re a homeowner with a single door or a facility manager with multiple openings.
What details should I have ready before calling Lion's Windows & Doors for a quote?
For residential projects, know your opening type (window, entry door, sliding door, patio door), which direction it faces if it’s a window, and whether you’ve noticed any specific symptoms — fogging, sticking, drafts, hardware failure. You don’t need measurements in hand; we take those ourselves. For commercial projects, have your opening dimensions if available, the door type, and a sense of how the door is used daily. The more specific you can be about what’s wrong or what you need, the faster we can give you a useful answer on that first call.
Does Lion's Windows & Doors work with HOAs, or is that the homeowner's responsibility?
That’s the homeowner’s responsibility to manage with their HOA — but we can help you prepare. We provide product specifications, material samples, and documentation that most HOA architectural committees require for approval submissions. Summerlin, Henderson, and the master-planned communities across Clark County each have their own rules about frame colors, glass reflectivity, and approved materials. Our HOA window and door rules guide covers the specifics by community so you know what to submit before you order.
Commercial Service Questions
Lion’s Windows & Doors handles commercial work — rolling steel doors, storefront entries, and warehouse systems.
This is a point of confusion for a lot of facility managers and business owners who find us through residential search results. We serve both sides of the market. Our 6-person crew is sized for commercial jobs that require proper staffing across the full scope.
Does Lion's Windows & Doors handle commercial rolling steel door installations, or only residential work?
We handle both. Commercial rolling steel door installation is one of our primary services — including new installs for warehouses, distribution centers, retail storefronts, and commercial garages across Henderson and the greater Las Vegas area. If your facility has an overhead rolling door, we install and service it. You can learn more about our commercial door repair services in Las Vegas on the dedicated service page.
What information should a facility manager have ready before calling to schedule a warehouse door installation?
Have your opening dimensions ready if you have them — width and height of the rough opening, and the available header clearance above it. Know the door’s primary use: how many cycles per day, whether it needs a motor, and what the load environment looks like (forklift traffic, outdoor exposure, etc.). You don’t need a spec sheet. Knowing those basics lets us ask the right questions and give you an accurate initial assessment on the first call.
Can Lion's Windows & Doors service a commercial door the same day if it stops working during business hours?
Same-day availability depends on crew scheduling and parts. For commercial door failures, we prioritize getting someone to your facility to diagnose the issue as quickly as our schedule allows. Las Vegas’s commercial environment runs on tight timelines, and a door that won’t open or close is a real operational problem. Call us directly, describe the failure, and we’ll give you an honest answer on timing.
Product and Climate Questions
Standard window products perform differently in Las Vegas than the specifications suggest.
Las Vegas sits at roughly 36 degrees north latitude with a desert climate classification. Summer temperatures regularly hit 113-115°F. The UV index is among the highest in the country. Products that perform adequately in a temperate or humid climate can degrade significantly faster here. These questions come up constantly, and they deserve straight answers.
Does single-pane glass perform differently in Las Vegas than in other states?
Yes — and the gap is larger than most homeowners expect. Single-pane glass provides almost no thermal resistance, which is a problem everywhere. In Las Vegas, it’s compounded by the extreme solar heat gain coming through uncoated glass during summer months. A single-pane window on a west-facing wall in July is essentially a heat radiator into your living space. The Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, or SHGC (a rating from 0 to 1 measuring how much solar heat a window allows through), matters far more in Las Vegas than in most of the country. If you’re evaluating an upgrade, our energy-efficient window replacement options page covers what’s available for Las Vegas conditions specifically.
What is the difference between a standard double-pane window and one rated for desert heat specifically?
Both are insulated glass units — two panes sealed together with a space between them. The difference is in the coatings and ratings applied to the glass itself. A desert-rated window carries a low-E coating (a microscopically thin metallic layer that reflects infrared heat while allowing visible light through) and a low SHGC rating, typically below 0.25 for Las Vegas conditions. A standard double-pane without these ratings keeps heat out better than single-pane, but still passes significant solar energy into your home. The full breakdown of window frame materials that hold up in desert heat — including which specifications matter most for Las Vegas conditions — is covered on our dedicated materials page.
Which window or door products hold up best to the monsoon season in Las Vegas?
Late summer storms in Las Vegas bring wind-driven rain, dust, and rapid pressure changes that expose weak seals and poor frame fits faster than any other condition the valley produces. Products that hold up best share a few traits: compression weatherstripping rather than brush seals, frames rated for thermal expansion (vinyl and fiberglass perform better than untreated aluminum here), and impact-resistant glass on exposures facing prevailing storm directions. Our monsoon season damage guide walks through what gets damaged most often and what to inspect after a storm.
